Preparation for GOTF 2027 has been rough. For multiple reasons, many of the resources that GOTF relies upon did not line up. This has been the most expensive year that Get Out The Float has ever had. This is not the fault of any of our service providers but due to a multitude of factors. It is better that we put on the best convention that we can and hit the brakes when we know that we do not have the resources to make a good convention happen in the time available to us.
With deep regret, we will not be holding our convention from February 4th-7th, 2027. Our next convention will take place February 3rd-6th, 2028, instead. We will be changing the dates where they appear online; try as we might, we cannot change the dates on existing posters and flyers. Applications like volunteers and vendors will remain open for GOTF 2028. If you are staying at a hotel that is one of ours, there is no cancellation fee this far out.
Thank you for being a part of us, whether near or far. GOTF is defleated for now, but we will rise again bigger and better than ever. We just need an extra year to apply patches and repair kits. “Spirit of Aloha” will remain our convention theme, so we don’t lose the progress we did manage to make thus far.
