Prepare for Wintry Travels to GOTF

Squeak! Winter weather is here and that’s going to make travels to Get Out The Float 2025 a little interesting.

The weather forecast this week is calling for a wintry mix in Seaside with highs near 40 and lows near 30. Snow level is expected to be low and that will affect travel conditions over the Coast Range passes.

Oregon Department of Transportation requires a minimum of carrying chains or traction tires. Be ready to install chains if required.

We advise checking the cameras TripCheck.com or calling 5-1-1 (or 800.977.ODOT) for Oregon road conditions.

If you’re traveling on Washington roads (WA-4 & WA-401), check WSDOT website for road conditions (unfortunately, WSDOT no longer has phone-in condition updates).

These websites have a wealth of information on chain and traction tire requirements, current conditions, cameras, and alternate routes.

Below is a table of primary and alternate highways to Seaside. We recommend checking the latest update before heading over the Coast Range in case of condition changes or an incident that may close the highway. Should you need to detour, it’s highly advisable to use state or federal highways.
